Vance plans Hungary visit in show of support for Orban ahead of tight election, sources say

LOS ANGELES, April 2 (Reuters) – U.S. ​Vice President JD Vance ‌will visit Hungary and hold bilateral ​meetings with Prime ​Minister Viktor Orban from ⁠April 7-8, the ​White House announced ​Thursday.

Vance will ​visit Budapest and deliver remarks, ‌the ⁠White House said in a statement.
The visit comes days ​ahead of ​Hungary’s ⁠April 12 election, which is ​set to ​be ⁠Orban’s toughest since he seized power ⁠in ​2010.
