Amb. Ronald S. Lauder, president of the World Jewish Congress, released the following statement about President Biden’s signing today of a $95 billion foreign aid bill:
“Urgent times require productivity, cooperation and casting aside the business-as-usual mentality.
“America has once again demonstrated that it stands strong and will deliver. The aid package signed into law today is historic and means that help is on the way. This is what happens when leaders put aside toxic partisanship and come together to do what’s right for global stability. In this moment, that means protecting the people of Israel and Ukraine, and urgently supporting humanitarian aid for Gaza.
“I thank President Biden, Speaker Johnson, Leader Schumer and Leaders McConnell and Jeffries for getting this done. Each is a steadfast friend to the Jewish people.”
